This paper addresses the development of a Library Service Model for the State Library of New South Wales. The development of the service model is one of over twenty strategic projects underway to align the State Library of New South Wales to its mission, vision, core values and beliefs.

The Library Service Model will encompass traditional services, digital services and social networking services. The project, led by the authors of the paper, will be described, including staff engagement and involvement and client engagement. The development of a Library Service Model for the State Library of New South Wales is an integral part of ensuring the ability of this library to continue to deliver effective and appropriate services to their community.
