The adoption of an outwards focus resulted in a range of positive outcomes for Maitland City Library and the young people in its community. Moving from a passive presence centred on library buildings and collections, the library has become an active community player through programming and partnerships. This presentation will explore
the opportunities for youth development that are an outcome of a shift in the library's thinking and expectations.
